Environment

Recticel is committed to prevent its industrial activities from having any impact on the living environment or at least to keep it to a minimum. Recticel also aims to optimise its processes with a view to limiting, for example, waste and airborne emissions. The Group attaches a great deal of importance to the rational use of other natural resources with a view to reducing the pressure on the environment. Dealing rationally with energy is therefore one of the top priorities at present.

Recycling

Even the smallest remnants of polyurethane foam that remain after the production or converting process are recycled.The Recticel group and its partners increasingly focus on mechanical recycling of polyurethane foams. In this process, granulated polyurethane trim foam is processed into a bonded foam.
Other possibilities to recycle polyurethane flexible foams are chemical recycling (through hydrolyses or glycolyses the material is brought back to its initial components) or thermal recycling (which aims at recovering the material energy).
